Second Subsidy For Silver, Sporo Cat (Elaine Tan�s)

We have banked in our second subsidy of RM262.50 for Silver, Elaine’s rescued sporo-cat. This brings our total subsidy to RM525.00, which has already exceeded our maximum of RM500.00.

Since it is the nature of sporotrichosis that treatment takes many months, we have provided more than our maximum of RM500.00 for Silver.

Elaine says the vet advised her that Silver may need treatment for another 4 months. Each month, the cost is RM750.

For the next claim, Elaine will be applying to another fund which has agreed to help out as well.

Updates from Elaine on Silver:

Hello!
It’s been a long while since I’ve last updated about Silver. I just went to visit him last Saturday, and collected his medical bill from Klinik Wawasan.
The attachments with this email are his latest pictures.

Picture 1:

His head wound have significant improvement. the vet says that he actually had a sporo outburst 2 weeks back, the scars got all swollen, especially on the head part. The swollen part on his nose was trice bigger than now. It is unsure that what caused that, but based on their previous experience with another sporo cat, it seems to be a part of the recovery. But well, Silver loves rubbing his head against the cage… It’ll take quite a while for a complete recovery compared to the other body parts.

Picture 3:
It’s hard to capture a picture of his belly. The big swollen wound that was still on him a month ago, now forming a dried up scar! Hurray!

“So now, where’s my food?!”
Lot’s of complains as usual. The vet was saying that, sometime during a quiet noon, all you can hear in the vet is Silver’s voice.

Pink skin on his paw are growing back!

The back paw is almost completely healed! Vet says that it will most probably have fully grown out fur on the back paw in 2 months time.

Considering Silver is a FIV positive cat, his recovery is really fast! I’m really glad for him and it’s really awesome to see how much he had recovered.

The bill for his medication this month is a total of RM750 (for 26 Dec 2011 – 25 Jan 2012) and the requesting subsidy will be 35% off the bill (RM262.50). I will send the receipt along with the claim form by this week.
