The Pinscher Settles Down
Tweet |
It’s almost 11pm now. The pinscher has completely settled in now.
And she’s as tame as a little lamb. Not snappy anymore.
Like a lamb now. Likes to sit on laps.
I put Tabs’ old collar on her. Even adjusted to the minimum, it’s too big for her! But she needs a collar so that I can take her for a walk in the garden. Minpins are extremely energetic dogs and need to move about. Indeed, she does. She’s extremely curious and walks to be on the move all the time. But she enjoys sitting on laps.
She did not pee or poo, so I put her back and Bobby finally detected the “new scent”.
Here, Bobby….here.
All tucked in for the night…for now.
She had already taken a nap earlier, but she’s extremely alert and incredibly smart. The moment I even peep at her from anywhere (even from the kitchen where I think she cannot see me), she’s looking right at me, and asking to come out!
A quick wikipedia search says Minpins are German in origin. And are great escape artists!
No wonder… Maybe she can be good friends with Pole? But Pole, with her years of experience, has class. Pole escapes, but she knows how to come back.
And Minpins are German? She needs a name. Off the top of my head…Frieda, Gretl, Heidi, Helga, Lisle….
I like Heidi.
Calling Heidi’s owner….please contact me to take her back.
Gute Nacht, meine freunde!

Temperament
Miniature Pinschers are for experienced dog owners. The Miniature Pinscher is an assertive, outgoing, active and independent breed.[15]Miniature Pinschers are energetic and need a fenced in yard to run in, they make great agility dogs. They are great escape artists and some recommend having a kennel with a lid on it for them to run around in.[16]They are good watch dogs, are alert and wary of strangers.[17][18]It is recommended that adults and teenagers play with a Miniature Pinscher and not young children as younger children play rough.[19]
Care
Grooming is easy, as the smooth, short-haired coat requires little attention, needing only occasional brushing and shampooing.[20]Care must be taken in cold weather, sweaters or baby blankets for a Miniature Pinscher keep it from getting too cold.[21]Miniature Pinschers are an active breed and will need access to a fenced yard, or a daily walk will suffice.[22]
