ManekiNeko   Jan 26th 2010 at 8:35PM Blind dogs can live quite well, if given a caring home. They learn their way around a house and garden by feel and smell, and as long as they aren't allowed to roam around loose outside their own property (which no dog should be), they are just fine. MYcareLIFE, should we also kill blind people to spare them some difficulty?! Good grief. :-(

Sashy   Jan 26th 2010 at 9:50PM I had a blind silky once ... she escaped from my garden better than the other one who could see :( Had to patch every single hole and loose fencing really well. I guess because she couldn't see to know she couldnt fit, so she would just stuff hersself through and squeeze out somehow. Also, whenever she snuck into the house, she would automatically find a nicest, coolest spot to hide and sleep too. I also once rescued a small, blind spitz pup from the drain...my male 1 yr old dog took care of her and she followed him around like he was her mom. Whenever he barked at passersby.. she would imitate and bark too. She would usually be facing in the wrong direction tho :p

Anyone who is interested in any of my dogs are subject to an interview to see if they can provide the necessary care for the dog or not. She might be imperfect but doesn't mean that I will just rehome her to anyone who is willing to take her.
