Luca is an indoor doggo. He enjoys being cuddled and sleeping on soft surfaces. He suffers from a bit of anxiety when he is left alone for prolonged periods of time, but he is very calm when there are people around him because he constantly wants to be hugged and played with. He is a really really sweet boy, and should only be with a family that can give him all the love and attention he needs. He is a very loving companion, and he's very submissive. He hasn't shown any signs of aggression and he knows basic commands like "sit", "down" and sometimes "roll." He likes playing fetch, but you have to say 'ahhh' so he lets the toy go when you're holding it.
He has been moved from apartment to apartment, and we've noticed that he needs to be re-potty trained when he's in a new environment. So please be a little patient with him, but he's a fast learner if you are consistent.
He isn't picky with food, but he prefers wet food over kibbles. Don't overfeed him, because he sometimes eats until he throws up, and if you don't clean the throw up right away, he tries to relive the eating experience by eating his throw up. In those instances, just brush his teeth and he'll be ready for more kisses. On that note, Luca LOVES kissing, he can lick your face for literally an hour but that's how he shows appreciation.
He isn't afraid of thunder and loud noises, but he hates being alone. He's friendly with other pets and children, so it would be nice if there were companions for him when you're not at home.
Luca tends to poop his previous meal right after he eats his new meal, so that's an opportune time to take him for a walk. But you can try timing his bowel movement to understand how to handle that when you get him.
He doesn't care for television, so you don't need to leave the TV on for him when he's at home. Just give him some toys to play with, and definitely make sure you take your trash out before leaving him in a room with a bin, cause he can be curious.
He likes it when you sing to him when you're cuddling on a bed or sofa. It puts him to sleep. He doesn't like walking on cement, and he sometimes gets scared when he's outdoors and sees the sky cause he's used to apartment spaces, so slowly introduce him to the outside world.
His birthday is February 17, 2019.
He's the best doggo ever.
We're giving him up because our apartment owners don't allow dogs and we can't move anywhere that will permit one. So we're really left with no choice. Hopefully he finds a happy, loving forever home.
