UPDATE 29/02/2020: The Potato Twins were adopted on 10/10/19 but now need a new home as their adopter in Selangor no longer wants them. We need to find them a loving truly furever home or temporary foster home for the meantime.
Meet the Potato Twins!
These handsome brothers are in urgent need of a loving permanent home. They are part of a TNR pack in Langkawi. Unfortunately, Langkawi is not dog friendly (and getting worse) and they have been targeted by the local council. We have taken them off the streets and they are in temporary emergency housing. Soon, we will be moving them to another more remote location where they won't be in danger from humans. We will continue to feed and care for them there but the best thing would be for them to be adopted. They are not feral dogs and would be wonderful companions.
They are big boys, much bigger than our average Malaysian dog. At only 7 months old, Potato 1 already weighs 18.4 kilos, Potato 2 is 21.4 kilos!! They are very solidly built and strong but don't let this fool you. The Potato Twins are gentle giants. Mellow and sweet-natured, these goofy young boys will bring so much light, love, and laughs to your family.
They have been extremely well-behaved in their foster home. No nuisance barking and no stress whining. Despite the sudden change of environment which would upset other dogs, the Potato Twins have been calm and content, sleeping peacefully and quietly observing the new things around them. All this with minimal supervision.
Why do we call them the Potato Twins? When they were babies they looked like little brown potatoes :) Potato 1 is the handsome golden boy, stealing hearts with his golden brown fur, floppy ears and goofy personality. Potato 2 is the more serious twin although his signature up down ears say otherwise. Potato 2 survived hepatitis and is very strong now but may have lost vision in one eye. He's the heavier of the two.
We would like them to be adopted together if possible. They're very close and rely on each other. They're low maintenance dogs who love people but they're not needy. They're happy wih each other's company and keep themselves entertained. They are neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and frontlined.
Please contact me if you'd like to love these big boys. Arrangements can be made to send them to Penang, KL, or other locations on the mainland. We have a volunteer standing by to drive them to their forever home.
