A story about Caramel & many others that meet the same fate.
ABANDONED (ONCE)
I was born in a farm until they brought me to a pet store & tried to sell me for profit. A family saw me & brought me home to his daughter. I was loved at first & very soon they got bored with me. They never want to keep me anymore but don't know what to do with me. And so they left the gate open hoping that I'll run out by myself.
ABANDONED (TWICE)
I was hungry, afraid & lost. Another family (previous owner's neighbour) with 3 kids found me. They brought me back to my previous owner & my owner said to them "I don't want her anymore. You can have it". I was sad & heartbroken :-(
That day onwards, I started to live with my new family. They adored me (at first), but they do not have the knowledge & time to take care of me. The children are excited with me (at the beginning), but it doesn't take long for them to go back to their smartphone & iPad. By the 6th month, I have already been forgotten & nobody wants to play with me anymore. I spent day & night in a small cage 24/7, outside at the carpark porch; I do not have any toys/companion; I was not given any hays to eat, but unhealthy pallet. I was sad, lonely & afraid (especially when it rains).
TODAY
My mission today (as animal rescuer & rabbit owner myself) is to get Caramel a good & forever home. She has been tossed around twice by irresponsible owners. She deserve to be loved, we just have to give her a chance.
Before you decide to take Caramel, please understand the responsibility that a rabbit pet owner should have. Rabbit is NOT a toy. NOT a dog/cat. Rabbit is a prey animal that needs special care & love. They need:
- Unlimited amount of dried hay (constantly working digestive system).
- Daily green (google what they can or cannot eat).
- Small amount of pallet (daily).
- Water
- Cardboard to chew (to wear off their constantly growing teeth).
- Space to hop, flop & binky (cage-free)
- Should be kept indoors (away from cold & hot).
- Most importantly, they need YOUR LOVE.
