[For Adoption] Herman the 3YO male (neutered) Poodle is looking for a good home. He is healthy. We have done complete blood count, e canis test, and heartworm test. He is on Panoramis for heartworm prevention and tick prevention. He is friendly with small dogs but barks at larger dogs sometimes. We have sent him to grooming as well.

Herman was abandoned at pet shop and adopted by a family but soon, Herman became over protective of the owner's daughter. Only the daughter spent time with Herman as the mother does not love dogs. They have decided to give him away after he snapped at family members (strangers to him) to protect the teenager.

Please note that he requires patient adopters with no young kids. He is fearful initially and has trust issue. The whole family must be supportive of the adoption. He is friendly and affectionate towards those he trusts but can be defensive towards strangers and snap at perceived threat.

It will take 2 to 3 weeks to gain his trust and he snaps in initial weeks until he trusts you. He is fine with all of us at foster home now and is an affectionate boy (no longer snap after 3 weeks with us). Hence, we are looking for someone who can be patient with him and not someone who would give up immediately once being bitten by him in initial weeks.
