Must spend sufficient time playing and socializing with them.
Only for adoption seperately.
They have perfect health condition currently.
If possible he is to remain on raw food if not high quality cat kibbles only.
Adopter must be willing to allow us to visit them to see their well being from time to time.
Adopters must neuter/spay them at their cost.
An adoption fee of RM400 will be needed as they had high medical expenses during his stay with me.
Willing to learn about ferret and able to accept their pros n cons.

Charging RM400 to cover his medical expenses during his stay with you ? this is daylight robbery. During that period, he was ( and still is ) your pet, so it was only appropriate for his owner to bear the cost. A new owner should not bear this cost but he/she has to be fully responsible on all future medical expenses once he/she has adopted that animal from you. One of your conditions stated that " Willing to learn about ferret and able to accept their pros n cons " but looks like you , yourself are not willing to accept the cons which is "high medical expenses". For you the most important is not findng a good owner for that animal ( as claimed by you ) but $$$$$$.

Dear Shanti, Well, really appreciate if you ask/probe more on the ferret's background b4 jump the ship. Popeye and Apricot are not our pets, they are bought over from a RETIRED ferret breeder, we're doing a REHOMING program for sick and weak ferrets. Previously, Popeye was barely 700grams b4 we took him in for the program, now he is nearly double. In fact, he DIN'T come in with perfect condition, he HAD mites and was practically bold. I don understand what misunderstanding can lead you to say such nasty words of "this is daylight robbery", personally i think it's bit RUDE! (BTW, we spent more than the asking adoption fee, as just to make sure he is fit, tame and ready to go to good home!) Anyway, we're doing the ferret a favour for getting a good home. Me, personally, i got over 20 ferrets, they are all my babies, all ideal and perfect health. Sometimes, by doing something good for the animal can rise such un-healthy treatment from some sad misunderstanding ppl. Pls enlight me. Thanks

BTW, i tot adopting new pet is all bout heart and willingness... how come it seems like what "daylight robbery". Then other ppl here who does rehoming or putting pets up for adoption with slight fee must be PIRATES..kekekeke.
BTW, i think 400 to adopt for a healthy plus trained ferret isn't much compare to those ppl who actually resell their ferret on higher market price by giving lame excuse of going OVERSEAS and BUSY with work.
Miss, there are lots of factors to be taken into consideration, i don't think $$$$$ is all the thing ppl sees. Or maybe u?

Sorry to buldge in..

If that so... Change the RM400 to let say.. get the new adopter bring in few bags of ferret food for your other ferrets.. That is what the cat rehoming prog is doing currently.. They just make sure the money goes back to the other cats.. It is not meant to be a burden to the new adopter but to make sure she/he knows and understands his/her future responsibility to the animals. Getting it for free sometimes inviting 'temporary' animals lover. And also.. to help the fosterer to save more in the future.

Just my 2 cents..

I have been here in petfinder for awhile and been seeing those re-homers deal with problems..Usually it will go like this:

a. Fee will be in the form of bags of food for the other cats.

or

b. The re-homers will met the new adopters at a vet clinic so that he/she will hand in the cats to the new adopters AFTER being spayed or neutered and the new adopter bears the bill.
The bill will be the sort of fee and to make sure the cat will not suffer and make more babies.

TQ.

This few ferrets, they r near to death oredi when we got them...in fact, we pay the breeder to bring them back for treatment...and what i m askin was jus medical reimbursement for my credit card for the vet fees and supplements tat i got for them...They got the mites jab and visited several vet for quite a number of times..They were very fierce when first arrive tat we hav to use glove to handle them, and also got ourself bitten many times till one of my finger got numb for couple of month..We do the bonding and taming because we reli wan a final home for them. And not to forget the toilet training..Ppl dun c this, and i do not want to expose all tis at first,bt it leads to misunderstanding and we got blamed..I think it's fair for new owner to pay for the medical fees as a little commitment and share the responsibilities of their well-beings..I reli dun hope such rehoming needed in pet community bt sometimes it's nt under our control..
