Hooma is one of our TNRM cat, her colony is considered quite safe and we used to feed her everynight but one day, we found her disappeared for a week and came back with a damaged right eye, broken jaw, minor wounds on head, swollen face, flu and fever.
The vet couldn't really identify the cause of the wound but because of the flu and fever, eye ball removal surgery couldn't been carried out immediately and so we brought her back home and take care of her until flu is fully recovered, but within those few days, her eyes deteriorated real fast, it popped out, bleeds and the condition is really bad, vet suspected that she had toxoplasma if not the condition would not be that bad, after test it proved that she's toxoplasma positive.
Vet have removed her damaged eyes but the infection is really really bad inside because of the toxoplasma attack. Hooma been warded for 3days for observation. She needs to take medicine for a month to kill those virus and prevent further inner infection. The total medical costs is RM547.70 that covers medicines, toxoplasma tests, eye removal surgery and hospitalization fees.
We plan to find her a home at first but after we knew that she's toxoplasma positive we plan to keep her with ourselves because we knew seldom people willing to keep a cat with this virus.
We would like to appeal for financial assistance in her medical bill. We appreciate so much for the help..thank you very much.
