Brindle was rescued from the pound on 5 February, 2014. He was one of 13 dogs that had just been caught by the municipal council. They were all to be put down if not adopted within a week. The efforts to rescue the dogs began near the end of January 2014. Many e-mails and phone calls were made to find a temporary home for these 13 dogs to get them out of the pound first, while we worked on getting them permanent homes eventually. Unfortunately, no one could help until Dr Chan Kah Yein of AnimalCares stepped in and through her kind efforts, arranged to have them housed at PAWS under its SAPP (“Sponsor-A-Pet” Programme), costing RM150 per dog per month.
