Hey JScott,
Are you sure the dog is imported from Australia? If you import a dog from Australia, the quarrentine fees is very expensive. It is more than AU$3,000 and the boarding fees in the airport on day is about Rm30. A dog imported from Australia needs 6 months. Why's your adoption fees so cheap then?
Besides, if it is a championship, and goes for training classes, who wants to put it up for adoption? Did you go all the way to Australia and import the dog??

It's not my dog, my friend wants to give him up for adoption because she has no time for him as she's got too many dogs to train.

I feel sorry for milo should he become a couch potato as he has much potential to be a great agility trained dog, and yes she paid a huge fortune for the dog all the way from australia.

I hope this is not offensive to the owner or anyone reading this but the terms and condition of the adoption which a lot of you say feels like the adopter would be paying the fee to help her take care of the dog, is not because the owner wants to control the dog ownership but because she doesn't want the dog to lose it's talent eg if a person is good at art, you want to encourage them to continue so that they;ll be better and maintain the skill, not stop all at once and lose the skills that they were trained or born with.

Hi, I would like to explain a few things about giving Milo up for adoption.
1. I would like to give someone who is interested in the agility sport a chance to work with a dog who has been trained in agility. Agility is a team-sport, so adopting Milo would mean working a relationship with Milo, and agility is the sport to work out a bonding with your newly adopted dog.
2.Milo is not a lap dog, although he is very 'manja' towards people. Milo is a working dog being a Kelpie, so having something to do will keep him happy and at the same time the owner will also have a sport to participate in.
3. The adoption fees is RM400- RM250 will go towards the new owner's membership fee into Persatuan Agiliti Anjing PP. This is to encourage the new owner participate in agility competition with Milo. RM150 will be given to GRASS Penang as a donation from the new owner.
4. If nobody interested in adopting Milo, he will end up being a couch potato in my present home, it is a bit wasted. I have 2 other dogs working on competition agility and obedience, so I don't have time to continue to train Milo. But if there is someone out there who is really keen in the dog agility sport and don't have a dog to work on, then this is a good chance for that person. Also I can help the new owner to continue training Milo. It is not an easy task to find such a person, but I am hoping to find such a person.

does the adopter has to be in penang as well?

I don't think it's necessary as long as the adopter can come to penang island once a week for training

A very nice dog indeed. For those who are interested to find out more:

If only I don't have to spend so much time working to put food on the table, I would have volunteered to adopt this dog and find myself a best friend.
