This is Max. (06 January 2014)
Me and another rescuer (AND vet doctors too) found him to be a very very good boy. The "manja" type! :) Max happens to be Jack Jack's friend. And Jack Jack shares his food with him. So, when Jack Jack can't be found (because I took him away from where he is living & seeking an adoption), Max was left on his own. He was a timid boy, often bullied by other stray dogs in the neighbouring. He was fine on his own, (that's what I've thought) until one day...
Max came limping towards me as if asking for help. It was late evening after my work. I couldn't do much for him at that moment as I was car pooling & all vets I've known are off duties. I couldn't sleep that night, because I've turned away when Max was asking for help. For those who knew me, I've been in a lot of problems lately with family & friends due to being a rescuer! It eats me up!! I decided to get help through internet social. Many rescuers responded to my pledge but only one managed to came to me FAST.
It wasn't even FAST for me as I can't seem to locate Max the very next day! The whole "hunt" & trap sessions took me a miserable 2 weeks to trap him & gain Max's trust as he was getting weak. He is mostly to be spotted only in the evening, around 7.30pm - 8.30pm. This rescuer has uncountable sleepless nights! Managed to trap him one night & Max had stayed in one of the rescuer's place before transporting him to my vet the following days.
Max had a hind injury (right), vet suspected it might be a hit & run by a blunt / rounded object ie. car bumper. His injury has been left long when I found him to be in this condition, estimated about 1 - 2 months. Vet told us that Max's injury might had been too long to which his muscle has become shrink & taken a new place to "grow"! Max might not want to use his hind leg to walk. Gosh! That really really breaks our heart to hear this. And what Max has to go through.
Nevertheless, vet tired all the best to heal Max, putting him in casting for 6 weeks. And yes, it shows some positives results for the initial 2 weeks. Max can put down his hind leg & sits. Yay! As at today, (11 February 2014), I'm seeking fosterer who can help me to care for Max until he gets well. I'll try to get him adopted if not, Max is a TNR, to which I am very very reluctant. Please help me so I can continue with my rescue mission. Thanking all from the bottom of my heart :)
