We first met Oren when he started coming by as a stray kitten begging for food, but we didn't actually adopt him until he went missing and we found him dying in a backstreet. The vet didn't think he would make it but he recovered and went on to live a long, happy life.
He was friendly, protective, and is the most loyal, most patient cat ever. He would crawl over to us everytime we called even when it was taking him all his evergy. We discovered that he had FIV when he was 10; likely due to the injuries he sustained back when he was kitten because he had been neutered and was not the territorial type. By his 10th year, his body was no longer unable to contain the disease and his entire system was overrun.
He was put to sleep curled up in my father (his best friend)'s lap. He nows watches over us from the garden he so loved playing around in.
