15 February 2014 update: Tigress renamed as Mei Mei accidentally fell to her death from her condo home. She will be dearly missed by all.
22 August 2013: Vivienne the fosterer who also adopted Momo about two years ago has decided to adopt Tigress too! : )
The kitten was found in a secluded drain by a busy road as I was walking my dog late on Sunday night (10 August 2013) when I heard her meows in distress. I went back home and came back to leave food and water for the kitten. However, as I walked away, she jumped out of the drain and insistedly followed me to the point of crossing the road. So, I had no choice but to rescue her although all my foster places were fully occupied.
She has been dewormed, Revolution-ed to protect against fleas/ticks for a month. Her weight was 1.05kg as at 12 August 2013. The vet has found the following problems:
- Ear mites in her ears which were also bleeding from scratching.
- There were bald spots on her tail indicating that she had a fungus infection.
- She has a scab on her forehead which could be from a cat attacking her.
- all four of the kitten's paws were bleeding and had pus at the pad and the first two digits.
As a result, she has been prescribed medication to treat the problems and would be brought back for vaccination by 17 August 2013.
Tigress eats kitten kibbles (I'm feeding Blackwood) and drinks water from a bowl. She is also toilet-trained to use the litter box.
She is very playful, would purr non-stop, always seeking attention and would cry if I'm out of sight.
The adopter must agree to the following conditions:
1) The adopter must be a Malaysian.
2) She must be kept indoors at all times.
3) Spay her at 6 months old.
4) Vaccinate her yearly to protect against diseases.
5) Apply spot-on medication (Revolution recommended) monthly to protect against ticks/fleas/ear mites/stomach worms/heartworms.
Please note that her adoption fee will only cover her vet bill and will go back into a rescue fund to help other needy furkids.
If you're interested to adopt Tigress, please contact me through petfinder.my and please DO tell about yourself especially your cat ownership experience. Please DO NOT ask me to call/sms you because I prefer to correspond by e-mail first.
