29 September 2013 update: Borg has been adopted by Aizad of Shah Alam!
As part of my neighbourhood TNRM (Trap-Neuter-Release/Rehome-Manage) effort, I caught Borg on 23 June 2013.
He was neutered on 29 June 2013 at a cost of RM60 and vaccinated (4-in-1) on 6 July 2013 at a cost of RM50 with a booster vaccination (4-in-1) on 2 August 2013 at a cost of RM45. The vet estimated his age to be around 5 years old after inspecting his teeth structure.
He has been protected against fleas, ticks, ear mites, heartworms and intestinal worms using the monthly application of Revolution. I cleaned his ears regularly. His claws have also been trimmed. His weight was 5.00kg as at 25 September 2013. The steady weight gain from 3.75kg on 29 June 2013 is an indicator of good health. However, he has soft stools and is FIV positive.
Borg eats dry cat kibbles and drinks water from a bowl. He is also toilet trained to use the litter box.
His behaviour indicate that he was probably once a house cat who became a stray later because he adapted quickly and smoothly to being confined to a home. He likes to follow me around and asks for attention or stays waiting nearby. Sometimes, he playfully bites but I would just stay still and say a firm 'No!' and he'll let go and stop.
The adopter must agree to the following conditions:
1) The adopter must be a Malaysian.
2) Vaccinate him yearly to protect against diseases.
3) Apply spot-on medication (Revolution recommended) monthly to protect against ticks/fleas/ear mites/stomach worms/heartworms.
Please note that his adoption fee will only partially cover his vet bills and will go back into a rescue fund to help other needy furkids.
If you're interested to adopt Borg, please contact me through petfinder.my and please do tell about yourself especially your cat ownership experience. Please do not ask me to call/sms you because I prefer to correspond by e-mail first.
