Hello, I am WONG Maun Chin. Being an experienced guinea pig handler, I am helping my friend here finding serious adopters for her two male guinea pigs. Both are siblings of cross-breed parentage between Abyssinian and Peruvian.
The condition is adopters need to adopt both of them, as they have been growing up together since young because both siblings’ bondage relationship has been extremely strong.
In view of curbing unethical adopters for re-sale value at higher market price, hence the adoption fee is set at RM180 a pair. (Note: The RM180 is still below market rate). Serious adopters may re-negotiate the adoption fee during the vetting process.
I will personally conduct the vetting process on every adopter. Potential adopters may have to undergo a series of short interview and Q&A discussion. Please spare about 5-10 minutes when an arrangement is made. My friend here will make the final decision as to whom she preferred.
A piece of advice to all intended adopters:
Do not succumb yourself into haste decision when adopting an animal. They may look cute, fluffy and nice to cuddle. However, they are not your play toy. They need your full responsibility, love and care for them in long term, and not being abandoned for unwarranted reason. If you do not have time taking care of them or for any before-hand reasons, DO NOT adopt them. Remember, passing on from one-hand-to-another is not a solution!
Common excuses (from past cases) such as:
Frequent travelling
Studying college
Asthmatic, allergic or known sicknesses (Please do consult your doctor first!)
Parents’ or family members’ objection
Second PRECAUTIONARY words to adopters who may want to breed them for sale:
Although I have no total control towards any in-breeding or cross-breeding with other species, please bear in mind the Sow may have shorter life-span on every labour. And bone deformation, still-born or sudden death may occur to inexperienced pet-keeper. Another issue is finding exotic vet for guinea pigs. Ordinary vet and you may not be able to guarantee the survival of newborns/litters and the mother, where critical months of less than 6 month old are concerned.
