[Adopted 7th Dec 2013 by Tina and Kevin]
"Hello! Perhaps you're wondering why a fine old dame like myself is up for adoption. Well, my family migrated overseas and with heavy hearts, decided it was too risky for me to attempt the long flight and even longer quarantine period given my age. That said, I've been for a health check recently and the doc says I'm in pretty good shape. All I need is two little pills a day that I gobble up with my food to make sure my thyroid is in good order so my skin and coat stays healthy.
My daddy was a short-haired dachshund and my mommy a beautiful Irish setter. Yes, everyone asks how my daddy managed it given the considerable height difference but where there's a will there's a way, so spay your dogs folks to prevent accidents! :P
Now, lemme tell you about the awesome bits about adopting seniors like me. Unlike young dogs, I'm perfectly happy to lounge around without the need for regular walks. And unlike those darn puppies with terminator teeth, you won't find me chewing up your furniture or favourite pair of shoes - I'm super well behaved! I lived happily with other dogs and young children in my previous home so you can be sure I'm great with pooches and kids.
I'm affectionate and easygoing and love belly rubs. Oh, and my fosterer says I'm a mega chow hound so I'll gladly eat anything. I have strong prey drive which means I'm not great with other small animals (will be more than happy to help you ward pesky rodents off your property!). Good watchdog too, I'll let you know when someone's at the door. I'd be peeeerfect for someone who'd love a chill companion to cuddle and watch tv with, maybe share a biscuit or two? Come say hi!"
To summarise, my carer says that I'm:
Ideal for homes that...
- are looking for a couch potato dog (I'm happy to just roam around the garden - but I just chill in favourite spots most of the day really)
- appreciate a cuddly, calm companion
- don't want to deal with the perils of raising young dogs (no destructive chewing with this dame!)

To help determine if you and the dog you're interested in are a good fit, would appreciate it if you could email with:
- A brief intro of yourself
- Your experience with dogs if any
- Your household situation (what type of home you live in i.e. landed or apartment, whether you have other family members/friends living with you etc.)
- Any other pertinent info that will help match you with the right pooch :)
if she's quiet and does not make noise when my neighbors pass by my doorsteps, i am happy to have her.
i know she might just have a few more years to go or less.
However i need to know how much would it cost me and etc for medical bills etc etc, and i have to recalculate my spendings every month to see if i can meet the requirements.
