Vivi, many years ago I rescued a bullmastiff. Why did the owner want to give it up? She saw the early signs of glaucoma and knee problems and knew they couldn't afford the vet bills. (Mind you, they didn't bother mentioning these problems to me; I had to hear about them from my vet...:-( These are big dogs, expensive to keep even when healthy. They are LOVELY dogs, but I think too many people buy them without thinking of the expenses. It breaks my heart.

I can't say that i can afford anything but at least i'll try my best to keep both my dogs comfortable.
Wish more people will think futher before adopting a pet. It' not as easy as u think.
