Gnocchi was given to me as from a friend of Nitha (Vee20) on 3rd April 2011. She was told by her vet that the cat is 5 months old and probably pregnant. Since she could not accommodate a pregnant cat at the time, I agreed to keep her until she give birth.
The kitten was a bit timid at first, she would jump to every sound, and would not let me pet her for so long. I sat with her and explained to her that everything is going to be alright and that she is safe here. Slowly she began to come nearer and let me pet her. Eventually she began to purr and exchanging cat kisses with me.
That was when I decided to keep her.I named her Gnocchi, after an italian dumpling because she looks like one (flabby but adorable).
She was slightly dirty and had fungal infections on the tip of both ears, nose and tail. I cleaned her with cat wipes and applied anti-fungal medication at the affected area.
I brought her to the vet on 7th April to double check her pregnancy and alas, she is not pregnant. She is just a fat little cat. Thank god because i do not know she will be able to give birth at a small age.She was then vaccinated and dewormed.
She is yet to be introduced to the rest of the family.
Got her a new room mate-PRINCE ALFREDO!!! She was taken aback at first because Prince is so not like her. He was soo curious, so playful that she could not keep to his pace anymore.
She will just watch Prince playing around and destroying the boxes in the room. She preferred string-like toys rather than balls, I noticed.
Gnocchi seems to blend a little with the rest of the family, but prefer to be by herself or play with little Prince. Love to play with her own mouse-like tails all day long!!!
