She is a pure Great Dane. Black in colour. I am giving her away because I wont be able to take care of her skin problem. She is infected with dermotex. Pls call me or sms if there is anyone who is willing to adopt her. Urgent reply pls. If I am not able to find casper a home, I am considering to put her to sleep which would be my last resort option.
I think if you really love your dog, just because of her skin condition you are taking the easy way out to destroy her or giving her away. I bet most dog lovers wont agree with your action. All you need to do is to give your dog medical attention and a bit of your time, and she will be cured in no time. Why pass the burden onto the adopters......is that what you call a dog lover. My advice to you that in future, pelase do not keep animals...I rest my case.
Scoopy: for ur info, if u know more about demotax, it can't be cure and if u were me, u wouldn't wanna see her suffer. Maybe u should find out more about demotax before comment. Thanks for ur comment anyway.
Future readers n their comments: Do understand the circumstances n the issue correctly before leaving any negative comments about dog owners. Who are u to judge whether one is a dog lover or not? Having her out for adoption does not necessarily mean we don love her. The problem has been with her since she was a pup n believe me much medical attention has been given to her. So who knows maybe there will be someone who's more experience in this n would be able to care for her.
Hey Alanflp, its not difficult to treat demodex. You will also have to monitor her diet while she's being treated as there are some foods that she cannot eat. If you truly love your dog, you will give her a chance to live and heal her before giving her away. We have healed a worst off case than your Casper - call and we'll tell you how to treat her.
I wish to highlight that demodex is curable...only with long term treatment and with patience. Even if it is at its worst...(the effect of the body immune system), then medication can alleviate the distress suffered by the dog....I am not judging you but if you think it is not curable, then why pass onto the adopter. I hope you can read more on this mites related problem. Some are easily cured but soem some stubborn mites, it can be controlled. Cheers
I believe that we all pets lover did understand the circumstances before leave any comments here. I strongly agreed with what scoopy had commented on ur "excuses" to give up Casper. See they are many people commented that demotax are curable, what u should do now is keep trying on whatever curable way to cure Casper instead of seeking for adoption for Casper. If anything happen on ur family or urself, u would have many people around for u and they wont give up u, but what happen to Casper, she only has U, the one who bought her at the first place. if u are human, think twice! and u are not deserved to say so to the others who put negative comments on u :"Who are u to judge whether one is a dog lover or not? Having her out for adoption does not necessarily mean we don love her." Yes, truly u are not love her. she just one years old. How much attention u had giving to her til u are so tired and want to find adopter for her? Pls dont use this excuse that u are love her so u want to find an experience person to cure her!
Oh God, poor Casper, I really hope he has now found his new home... taking care of a dog is not easy, specially dog with medical condition. Dog always need attention and LOTs of love... well, hope Cherlyn has now reach Casper and he deserve to live,Why sentence Casper to die? Unable to care for him on financial side? or just too much stress? whatever it is, I hope someone already helping Casper..
