Faye is 1 year old Labrador retriever. She is MKA certified. I've had her ever since she was a 2 month old puppy. She is a very energetic and loving dog, very friendly. She loves playing and is a very good guard dog too.

It is extremely unfortunate but I have to put Faye up for adoption.

Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in providing a home for Faye or know anyone else who might be interested.

Thanks.

Such a sweet-looking girl. As a lab owner my heart wrenches to see that she's being given up. Please screen adopters carefully and make sure that she doesn't fall into the hands of unscrupulous people who claim to want her as a pet but actually want to use her for breeding purposes. Good luck!

Spay her. Good chance she will end up with a breeder or resold to a breeder especially as she has papers. Once you giver her up, you lose all control.

Good luck!

Hi, Kim -- yes, she is lovely! And please do take CanuckinKL's advice. We've seen so many heart-breaking stories of people putting un-spayed/un-neutered pedigreed pets up for adoption only to find out later that the animals are being kept in horrid conditions, bred continually for profit. In nearly every case, the adopter was a self-described "animal lover". For her well-being and your peace of mind, please do spay Faye before giving her up! :-)

actually i do not agree to spay dog , it seem like very cruel , we have no choice to take away her chance to be mother . it is same like human .

Animals are not humans. They do not decide their fate, they do not have the capacity to make decisions (if they did, I'm sure most would choose not to be a meal!)and they have no conscience. They do not have choice nor the desire for 'motherhood'. It's all instinct.

They feel love, show devotion and companionship and feel pain, fear and abandonment. As humans we must show compassion in their treatment.

Doreen, look around you. Look in any drain or construction site anywhere in Malaysia. You will see a homeless dog desperately trying to feed her young while avoiding the dog catchers or those willing to harm her because they hate dogs.

Look at all the dogs/cats on PF looking for adoption and those rescuers trying their best in an overwhelming battle.

Spay/neuter is the only humane way to try to solve this problem. The surgery is so common place now that most dogs/cats are released in a day. Plus, spayed/neutered animals are healthier and live longer.

Kimc, I'm glad to hear Faye will go to a true retriver lover and not a breeder!

hey....animals cant say out and describe thier feeling.dont use to compare between animals and human.they just unlucky to be animals, let think what happen if i spay you up without any of permision.its cruel that human spay them to let go thier chance to be a mother.human and animals is the same because they have feeling too.

Nicson, you've expressed this opinion on other postings, and the reply of responsible animal-lovers will always be the same: Allowing domesticated animals to breed unchecked will (and does!) result in more animals than we can provide homes for. What do you propose? To allow the pups and kittens to be thrown out to survive on their own? The primary purpose of Petfinder is to find homes for as many suffering and homeless animals as possible, so I'm afraid you won't find many members here who support your irrational point of view.

I agree with canuckin and maneki..I don't think animals ever have the desire to become a mother!I have a 1.5year female old dog which i just adopted 3 weeks ago and will get her spayed next week. She is the sweetest thing ever, however she hates it when my male pup tries to hump her and thats the only time u can see her snarl.. Futhermore if, I mean if u really really think that animals want to become mothers, do you know how traumatising it will be for them to have their puppies separated from them especially after they have created a special bond together..so I guess its much better for them not to become a mother in the 1st place!

Nicson, I want you to do the calcution first before post your against neutering cats or dogs. Cats get on heat 4 times a year. Let say every pregancy she give birth to 4 kitten. 4 times pregancy x 4 kittens = 16. She will have 16 kittens per year. Can you guarantee find home for the poor kittens?? Now, let say out of 16 kittens, 8 are female. This 8 female will grow up become adult cat and somehow will get on heat and pregnant. The circle continue. Tell me, what and can you offer solution to this issue??

nicson : so what after they become mothers? u will just sell their puppies after that.. do u think then it is right to do so? let them be mothers and after few days few weeks take away their puppies from them? imagine ur children being taken away! u said that they cant say out their feelings! so do u know that they feel sad when their pups are being sold by u??????? think before u do anything.. are u happy to c thousands of stray animals on the road without a proper home and have to find food from rubbish dump everyday?? we spay the dogs because we do not want that to happen..!!
dorenchoo: read up books please..animals indeed do not have the desire or instinct to become a mother..!!

@nicson hah my grandmother thinks the same way too. But i spay all my cats because i know i can't take care of all the kittens that are born and if some are female and are not spayed, I could have up to 80 cats in a year and thats a lot to handle. I understand where you're coming from and yes it does seem cruel to spay as to put in terms of humans but animals only have one thing in mind SEX and reproduce humans are smarter in intelligence and all can't compare now can we? Spaying and neutering help control overpopulation and not everyone are responsible and when they realize they got too much too handle they dump em anywhere, which is just cruel. You have no idea how many cats, dogs have to be euthanized each year because they couldn't find homes for them. They usually end up on a disecting table for students biology lessons. It was really sad to see them:( Sorry if its too long. Hahah not hating on you or anything.
