Rascal is a golden male cat that's highly athletic and has a very loyal character.

We first encountered him in 2024 after jumping into our house to eat the food of our existing cat. We have been unable to adopt him fully due to financial and housing constraints but we have fed him occasionally when we see him. He became reliant on us at some point, and he eventually brought along many other strays to beg for food every day at near our house. He would always let other cats eat the food first, it was like he was protecting them. After some time, we couldn't afford it anymore and we stopped, it was very hard to do this but we hoped he would be able to find a home that could actually adopt him. We didn't see him around the area anymore and we hoped he found a home.

Around March 2025, he suddenly appeared again. But he was very weak and bloody. We took him to the vet and it turned out his was attacked by a dog. Every vet we went too said they couldn't house him and we didn't know what to do. So we just had him treated and we let him hang around outside our house while we fed him some the prescribed meds crushed with some wet food. Eventually his healed wounds developed into some kind of a skin disease. We couldn't catch him after that he disappeared again.

Around October 2025, we saw him in front of our house again, he still had the skin disease but it looked much better. It also looked like he had been fed. We were happy to see him, we assumed he had found a home, and he left a while after.

Now at April 2026, he has resurfaced. He looks to be in bad shape. The skin disease is still ravaging his ears and neck. And his fur is quite disheveled, and his tail is bent and possibly broken. I just learned about SPCA and their FAQ pointed to this website. I hope to help him but I don't have enough resources. Can anyone help point me to a good but affordable vet? Or how to fundraise for him? Or how I can find a new home for him? Thanks!
