Beruang was one of the kittens I saw and played with in the pet store. At the time, I was mourning the passing of my 11 year old cat; Purcey who lost the battle against CRF. Going there was simply one of the efforts to cheer myself up other than being around my other cats at home and it never fails to perk me up, even just for a while. My boyfriend asked which one would I choose if I could take one home, so I pointed out to the un-friendliest month old snob of a kitten at the corner. The little tyke had a striking resemblance of Polar Bee, another fatso I loved and lost the year before. So I was playing with the puppies when he said I'll be taking the kitten home that night.
She was so tiny and fuzzy and scared. Everyone at home was thrilled and fell in love with her right away. Beruang slept with me for the next two weeks so that she'd get acquainted with the rest and adapt to her new home.
These days she has become super spoilt, still a snob (she runs away frantically when anyone other than me comes near) but when she's in one of her cuddling moods, she'd scratch her leash to make noise with the bell for attention from people, and my favourite is whenever I spend some alone with her, she'd never get me out of her sight and would follow me everywhere and do what I do, so if I disappear without her realizing, she would start crying/ meowing loudly. It won't stop until I'd call out on her to let her find me. Seriously, how could anyone not want pets?
Beruang was born on 29/02/05, precisely a month before Purcey died. I'm emotional this way but she is a gift for the present.
