Squeak was a lovely cat, who lived 10 years by my side.
He was aloof towards everyone but a select few people, but he was fiercely loyal, often following me on strolls at the park in front of our house. He slept on my bed every night since he was a kitten and enjoyed kisses on his little forehead.
In February 2024, he developed a flu that kept coming back despite numerous vet visits. One day, he became significantly weaker, stopped eating and his nose and eyes started to leak bloody discharge, so I rushed him to the vet, where he was immediately hospitalized and given medication via intravenous fluids. His xrays, ultrasounds and blood tests were clear, but the vet needed to wait for him to get stronger for him to get a CT Scan.
Unfortunately, on his third day of hospitalization, the vet confirmed that he had a tumor that began in his nose and spread to his brain. There was no longer any activity in his brain - so I made the extremely difficult and heartbreaking decision to let him go so he wouldn't suffer anymore.
He was my best friend. He was so, so loved, and I am eternally grateful for the 10 years of comfort and companionship he provided me. One day, we'll surely meet again, my angel baby 🤍
