A Poodle Cross named Miki was reported missing in Lebuhraya Batu Lanchang, Jelutong,Penang on the 18-07-10 (Sunday), posting was made on the 21-07-10 (Wednesday). Base from the information given, seems to have some controversial issues surrounding this case (Family affair, between both sisters). On the 22-07-10 (Thursday), went with Justine to SPCA Penang to re-address the facts with Miss Lilly (Administrator)… even though a Police Report was made against another party, this wasn’t a case of animal being abuse, but left those options open if any findings that can lead to dog being taken for purpose to fill up someone’s stomach or torture, then SPCA will move in.
Went to the location where the dog was last seen, inspected the surrounding area and took down Mrs. Choong’s statement. There are 2 possibilities how Miki ran off from this compound; through a small gap of the kennel cage or someone accidently did not close the opening. Address both side of the family, to go all out and search for Miki and glad both side agreed to this… Miki’s Missing Profile was done up by Hengs, and on the 23-07-10 (Friday), Chew lead a group to carry a sweep starting from the point where the dog was last seen.
Statement by Pay Chea. On 23rd July approx 8pm, Chew met me and my bf at Jelutong market planning our move and plotting on the map while assigning each of us to different areas by splitting us to 3 groups to distributed the 5k fliers. We covered areas around Lebuhraya Batu Lanchang for about 1 hour because it took us awhile to get all the Fliers folded and it was already very late then. We ended our search at approx 12am covering areas at about 5km from where Miki was last seen.
On 24th July approx 7.20pm, chew informed us to meet him at the same location of 121, Lebuhraya Batu Lanchang. And from there we continued from where we left the previous day and widen our search to about 10km from our current location all the way across Jelutong market, island glades and covered areas around the Batu Lanchang market and flats around it, also IJM commercial areas and also housing areas. We covered areas of Jalan Green and 80% of the house owners are dog owners. We ended our search at about 2.30am and treated chew with KFC as he looked very tired =P Headed back to where our cars were parked at 121, Lebuhraya Batu Lanchang.
HAPPY HOUR On 25th July approx 11am, a Malay woman called me but unfortunately I was too tired from the findings from the previous days and was still sleeping. The Malay woman den called my bf and immediately he responded by reaching at the location 5 minutes from the call. Miki was Found! And the Malay family told us that they fed Miki with fish as they are not too familiar with doggies’ meal. My bf den took Miki home to me and surprised me when I woke up. It was all thanks to chew who first suggested that we focus on the market as that is the place where all the foods are. Not forgetting your help in the "interrogation" =P
Would like to thank the following people in contributing their time and energy in search for Miki de Poodle Cross: Calvin Teoh, Gerald Tan, Sean Choo, Colin Leow,Ah Beng, Carmen, Pay Chea, Justine, Hengs, Becky and Chewy. Good Job plp…Cheers!
