This is Greypaw's story.
He is a senior silver bengal tabby with emerald green eyes. He is a very affectionate cat who loves human company. In the past he has also lived with other cats, dogs, and rabbits, and for the most part pays no mind to them unless disturbed. Even so, he would thrive best in a quieter, less crowded environment with an enclosed garden to roam.
Sadly, he has contracted a condition called FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), which makes the immune system weaker and susceptible to disease. Cats with FIV can live up to old age if they are kept mostly indoors, and it should be noted that Greypaw should not be kept around aggressive cats and dogs as FIV is transmissible through bite wounds.
With that, it's hard for us to keep Greypaw as we now live in a small apartment with another male cat who can't get along with other cats. They may fight, risking contraction of FIV - thus both of them are sometimes separated and isolated, leaving Greypaw to mostly dwell in another guest room. It is not a fulfilling way for Greypaw to live.
Greypaw has been through a lot throughout his life and it is our dream to ensure that he can live out the rest of his sunset years in a well-loving forever home. This feels like casting out a bottled letter into the ocean, but we hope someone out there can consider visiting and adopting him.
