[Updates, Oct 10] We have gone through a few application to adopt Hans. We have decided to go with a home with prior experience managing Belgian Shepherds, where he can live indoor and outdoor with ample space to run.
It was a tough decision as quite a number of applicants could provide good homes. We thank you for choosing to adopt.
Please do not ask if Hans is still available. If he is not available, we shall update the post to 'Adopted'. Request for PM or those who don't answer the questions below will be ignored.
[For Adoption] 11 months old male German/ Belgian Shepherd Mix is up for adoption (20kg). He is scheduled to be neutered on Oct 14, 2021. He was rescued by a kind Samaritan when his breeder dumped him on the street after suffering personal issues. We are fostering him until he finds a good home.
Hans the German/ Belgian Shepherd Mix is vaccinated, healthy (has done CBC, CHEM10, Heartworm Test and Tick Fever Test (sponsored by N. Koh), friendly, affectionate, playful, high energy with high prey drive. He is toilet trained and only does his business on grass.
He plays well with humans (inc. young children) and dogs, but chases after smaller animals/ insects such as squirrel, gecko, cockroaches. He has killed 1 cockroach. He doesn't react towards our neighbour's cats but we cannot guarantee he can co-exist well with a cat.
He is easily excitable and tends to jump on humans but has lessen over time. He pulls on leash during walk (first 10 minutes) until he calms down. Hans is looking for active adopter who could possibly drain his energy. For example, cycling with him on long leash. He is still young and can be destructive if left unattended for long hours. He doesn't bark much unless he wants your attention.
If you are keen to adopt, please write to us to describe:
1. Your experience handling dogs. Do you have other dog with you now?
2. Is your family supportive of the adoption?
3. How much time can you spend with him daily?
4. Describe the environment you are providing him with (landed, where he will be sleeping etc.)
5. Are you agreeable to send updates to us every now and then?
Adoption fee of RM 250 to cover for part of vaccination, neutering and health check (total bill of RM 900 where half of it sponsored by N. Koh, the rest by Bart's Sanctuary). Request for PM or those who don't answer the questions will be ignored.
Thank you for choosing to adopt!
