Jimmy was found with a small puncture wound on his left shoulder. He was treated with antibiotics given in his food but his wound did not heal. He grew weak and looked ill. We promised him when we took him in that we would seek the best treatment for him. However, due to the MCO, vet appointments took a long while after which he was found to have sporotrichosis which had spread to his face and we suspected to his lungs
as well. He was treated intensively with sporanox 1 capsule daily although the prescribed dose was only half a capsule daily because his wounds did not improve with half a capsule daily. All his wounds healed after two boxes of sporanox but he was continued on another box at half a capsule daily for 56 days. Nearing the end of the third box of sporanox, he was bathed by a SPCA vet and neutered. Presently he lives in our house together with other cats and he is well and his breathing is normal now even though he had easpy noisy breathing initially due to the sporotrichosis infection. We hope he can get adopted by a caring and loving person.
