Coby the 2.7kg Toy Poodle was abandoned at a pet boarding place as the owner blocked the phone number of the caretaker. Coby was about 9+ years' old and had been suffering from skin hyperpigmentation and fur loss for years, but ex-owner refused to send him to the vet for treatment, citing no time.
We took over from the caretaker on June 5, 2021 to foster him and get to know him. He has done full blood test (CHEM17 + SDMA) on June 10, and Hypothyroidism test on June 19. It is confirmed that he has Hypothyroidism but thankfully easily treatable (he has to take Oroxine medication daily for the rest of his life, which is RM 40 for 100 tablets and he takes 1 tablet a day). It is a relatively affordable treatment. He is otherwise healthy. We have also sent him to neuter on June 24, 2021.
Thankfully, with his medication, his skin and coat gradually improves (because Hypothyroidism, if left untreated, will cause fur loss and skin hyperpigmentation but thankfully reversible with medication). He is a very calm, steady, gentle and patient boy. He gets along really well with smaller dogs and humans (including toddlers) but barks at larger dogs (>15kg in size). He has mild separation anxiety where he will whine if left alone but only for a few minutes and he will continue to rest.
He is toilet trained to do his business in garden/ porch but will need to re-train at new place, but he picks up fast.

6. Are you agreeable to home visit (scheduled) and sending us updates (photos/ video) every now and then?
