Merlin is a sweet cat rescued from a mamak with a very mild case of sporo. He was boarded immediately and started on the sporo treatment, and now 6 months later, he's now fully sporo-free!
He also recovered from a mild case of pneumonia, though sometimes he still gets a bit stuffed up. His daily routine includes 15 minutes with the nebulizer, but he's no longer on any other meds. We will be supplying the nebulizer to the adopter, and showing them how to use it! It's very easy (just put Merlin in a carrier, cover it, let the nebulizer vapors come out for 15 minutes).
Merlin was also about one kilogram overweight and started his diet plan of purely high-protein wet food with low carbs and low fat. While his roly-polyness is very very cute, it's affecting his health which is less cute! So we are looking for an adopter who can commit to his weight loss plan. So far, his weight is now down to 5 kg. :)
He's been such a trooper during his entire recovery process, never losing hope and even a sense of humor. Merlin is a super loving boy, and would always stick his paw out of the cage asking for extra attention and strokes, and now he can be fully cuddled and hugged without fear of sporo! Merlin is now looking for a loving home where he can be treated like the prince he's always been.
Merlin has been defleaed, dewormed, fully vaccinated, neutered and FIV positive, which means his immune system is suppressed. But as long as Merlin stays indoors in a hygienic environment getting good food and annual check-ups, he can easily live the full 15-20 year life span of any cat. Merlin is available as a solo cat or to a home with another cat, following proper integration. With that said, because he is a chronic flu case, we do recommend him to be a solo cat as flu is very contagious to other cats.
