Pepper was a stray, abandoned by its mother. He was found in really bad shape after a couple weeks of heavy rain - flu, severe eye infection. After a few weeks with rescuer and meds, he recovered from the eye infection. Thinking he could be a good addition to my existing family with a toddler boy, I decided to adopt him from the rescuer.
Pepper is wonderful - a feline unlike others I have come across. At the time of adoption, he was only about 3-4 months old. As a kitten, he behaves unusually well. He plays nicely with a toddler and never a scratch. He's independent, knowing how to consistently groom itself clean and amuses itself knowing when the family is busy. During MCO where Work From Home is the only option for me, he would sit next to me and watch me work. An occasional head patting is sufficient to transform him into a purring machine.
I have always been bothered with allergic rhinitis and waking up with runny nose and teary eyes is something I could manage on my own. Unfortunately, my kid started showing signs of allergies as well, especially after close contact with Pepper. I have tried many, ranging from brushing him 3 times a day, bought a Dyson to clean the house at least 5 times a day, mopped the house at least twice a day, to feeding him extra virgin coconut oil to reduce shedding.
Honestly, I feel bad that I had to give him up. He's such a good buddy that he's perfectly alright with taking baths - it's as if he knows that my kid seemed to be allergic to him.
Pepper is a gem. If you think you could be a good pawrent to him, and you could give him a furever home, please contact me. I am happy to make sure that he will be in good hands.
