Brim (short for Brimstone) was rescued by me three months ago. I found him near death and with severe, chronic mange, ticks, ulcerated wounds, an ear abscess and severely malnourished.

After a few weeks of patient, loving kindness and veterinary attention he is now a very healthy, lively dog with a gentle nature. Brim is a special dog with an unusually gentle nature.

It appears Brim may have been abused before being thrown into the street. He is shy around strangers and becomes nervous with loud noises. He would NOT be suitable as a guard dog. His temperament is too soft but he will make a great family pet and so I'm looking for a genuinely loving person or family willing to give Brim a lot of love and freedom to run around. Ideally this would be in a quiet part of the country or in a home with a large garden.

I have started training him. He's now house trained, sits and comes on command and will leave the room when told to do so. He is also leash trained and will walk to heel.

As I am only visiting Malaysia I need to find Brim a suitable home as a matter of urgency.

If interested please email or phone [no messages please].

Brimstone is a very special dog. So sad we couldn't manage to raise enough fund for him to go to UK.

Thank you for your kind comments everyone. We continue to try to raise enough money for Brim. Please consider giving just a few RM - it all helps.

So sorry to hear the campaign has slowed and you're planning to shut down the appeal. While I understand the need for closure, please do not give up hope; you never know what comes around the corner.

At the very least, Brim is off the streets thanks to you.

Wishing you the best!

Thanks Canuck. I'm very sad about the whole thing and surprised at just how attached to Brim I have become. A lack of cooperation from those who are looking after him in Taiping, plus a lack of donations mean I've had to make a tough decision to end the appeal in December, a year after he was rescued.

I hope you are right however, and that we have a minor miracle to help us give him a decent home. After all the suffering he went through, it's the least he deserves.

Thanks again.

What will happen to him now? Will he end up back on the streets?

Agreed, he deserves a wonderful home after surviving what he has.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed a generous, kind-hearted person steps forward for you.

Here's a crazy after-thought. Do you have any friends in dog friendly countries that do not have such strict quarantine laws (Canada, USA, etc.) that would be willing to give him a home? A huge part of the appeal costs were to go to cover quarantine/testing costs. If all you had were shipping costs and maybe some vaccinations, there's probably enough left in the appeal to get him there. Sorry if that's too crazy an idea; I'm really hoping for a happy outcome!
