Gus was a very friendly and intelligent cat living the rough life outdoors when he started coming down with the flu. Not only was he sneezy, he had gunky discharge which was so thick that it was affecting his ability to eat and drink. This smart boy decided to get himself some help, and climbed into the laundry area of one of our fosters. He didn't bolt when she fed him, and instead expressed his thanks by purring and allowing himself to be handled. The foster mom got him to a vet with the right meds, and he's already on his road to recovery.
Gus is a young adult cat, about 1 year old. He's been defleaed and dewormed, and will vaccinated and neutered before adoption. He's currently going through intensive treatment for his flu, though it might take a bit longer because Gus also has FIV. However, FIV only spreads through mating and fighting, so as long as all cats in the household are sterilized and integrated properly, there is extremely minimal risk for FIV transmission.
This handsome boy is extremely affectionate and would be great for a first-time cat parent or to a home with another cat!
