I have always had cats while growing up. Once we had over 20 cats - most are ours, some are stray cats that would come for shelter and food.
I'm living on my own and have four adult cats. There are quite a number of stray cats where I live and being the softie that I am, I feed a few of them - especially kittens and pregnant cats.
Occasionally, I would take in a few kittens, especially young motherless ones, and raise them til they're old enough to be given away - mainly to friends and family.
I work from home, so I am able to look after them all the time. The only problem is that I don't drive (am trying to remedy that), so going to the vet is a bit of a problem and it would be difficult for me to pick up cats for fostering or send cats to those who would like to adopt them. Also, my apartment is quite small, so that limits the number of cats that I can foster.
