As you can see from my profile, I'm a senior person and you'd be wondering why I would want to own a Rottweiler at my age because a Rottie is a highly active animal. I have a love for dogs & cats & I've owned cats and dogs in the past for short periods of time and these animals usually seem to have an easy bonding with me. I've recently come to own a Rottweiler (Rocky by name) since August '11. I got him when he was just 3 months old. He's now 7 months old but he looks more like a year old adult dog - but still very playful and very hyperactive! I do take him out regularly for exercise but I would like do more like taking him out to a secluded place and just let him let off his steam but at the same time I'm afraid if I do that he might just pick up things that might harm him physically. Normally, when I take him out for his regular walks, he's always on a leash. Inspite of my age, I think I'm capable of handling him. My problem with him now is - obedience. I can't seem to get him to obey my instructions. Any help here?
