i always have pets in the house, most of it because my children wanted to have them. but my hubby & i usually will be responsible for supplying food & cleaning the pets & their little home/cages.
but recently we received two cats from my sis-in-law; a mother & her dotter. both are now ages 2yr+ & 6mo+.
there always tray-cats that used to come for food, even since i was in primary school. but non of them been adopted as pet.
last month, a stray queen (who used to eat at my home once a day, pop in our backyard especially when i am cooking); she left her litters at our compound. 4 of them, most with sticky eyes. she left her litters by themselves for more than 24 hrs.
my children encourage me to look after them. i took them, fed in with diluted kibbles & clean them up. it wasn't easy to look after the little one (first-timer). 2 days after, i spotted the queen was at the place where she left her litters, like searching for something. i went down & put the kittens. the kittens were like happy to see their mom again but the queen refused after sniffing the kittens. she left. i felt guilty coz i bathed the kittens a few hours before she came to look for her litters.
now they are more than 12 weeks & very active. most of their time in the cage coz our own cats do not welcome them well (yet). i will let them free for awhile 1-2 times a day, playing with my children.
and the mother cat of ours is expecting (wow! i am so nervous!). so i was thinking of giving out the kittens for free adoption. still looking for the new family to bring them home :)
