We are a group of independent rescuers operating with our own resources and donations to rescue and care for animals in need. When we rescue strays, we always take them to the vet for first vaccinations, deworming and defleaing. Then we foster them in our foster network or in our homes to socialize them with humans and our own pets. Once our rescues are ready to be adopted into loving homes, we try to find the best homes possible. We take into account the animal's personality, the adopter's care-taking experience, type of home, lifestyle, etc., to ensure that the kitty/doggy and human are the best matches for each other!

Adopting from us means you are entitled to behavioral consults for you and your cat(s) and also we guarantee complete transparency on any health issues, including FIV/FeLV status.

Please follow us on Instagram @allergicrescuerskl or on Facebook, Allergic Rescuers KL.

Hi Yahya, our adoption donation is exactly what keeps us in operation and continue to save more cats. Whenever we rescue a new cat off the street, we do whatever it takes to get them adoption ready. This means in minimum: defleaing, at least one round of deworming, and at least one round of vaccinations, and more if the cat has been with us for longer. However, most cats need more work, so we treat whatever they have - ear mites, lice, fur mites, ringworm, fungus, sporo, upper respiratory infection, eye infections, kidney disease, spinal damage, etc. In many cases we also do extra testing for FIV/FeLV, and in some cases, even X-ray, radiograph, dental work, serious surgery, hospitalization, acupuncture and physiotherapy. Basically we do everything we can to get the cat adoption ready, or at least healthy enough to lead a good quality of life. In some cases, a single cat has cost us more than RM 2,500 to get them adoption ready and thankfully less than that in most cases; but rest assured that all donations go towards vet bills and TNR (trap-neuter-return) work as we are a group of volunteers, and we do not pay ourselves or for our transportation costs. Please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.

Oh and I forgot to say something really important! We spay/neuter all our cats who are of age. To give you an idea, most vets charge anywhere between RM for spay/neuter.

Hello, do you have any hypoallergenic cats?

Hi Aisha, to be completely honest with you, there is no such thing as a hypoallergenic cat, unless they've been bred to have those features and even the actual results are debatable about whether they're actually hypoallergenic. In my personal experience as someone who's very allergic to cats, I've found that I'm able to adjust to the dander of certain individual cats over time, but this process can often take up to 18 months, for me. And certain individual danders have less or more of a reaction than others, but there's not that much rhyme or reason to it!
