I seldom kept a dog by oneself, usually with family. However, our family seldom kept pet in home for a long time as some of them lost or dead. After that, our family never kept a dog again. Now, I kept a mixed breed female puppy that I found on the roadsider. She grows up healthly within my family and my care.
