My parents are animals lovers, so their kids are too. In Ipoh, we once had a huge 'flock' of cats living with us, all rescued by my mum. Now we have six furry-purries and we feed the stray moggies. There's always a container of cat and dog food in the boot of my car just in case I run into a hungry animal. The intelligence of animals shouldn't be underestimated.
