This account is created to help Deborah how who suffers from a stroke and here's more information about her:
My name is Deborah How, 71 years old and I have lived in Taman Megah PJ since 1979. I started to rescue dogs in the area at the used car lots, back lanes of the shops and at the Ming Tien area. Those rounds of rescue added to 20 dogs. These 20 dogs have since passed on from pups to very senior dogs. The old ones lived till at least 15 years old and had liver and kidney failures. These initial lot have since passed on and were given shelter at my home till the end of their days.
The rescue stopped thereafter and I started to feed every evening, dogs at the Kayu Ara area. So many were stoned and abused by the residents there. As time goes by, I took them to my home. It was this second round of the rescue of these dogs that make up the current rescued dogs I have. Kayu Ara is a disaster zone with so many litters and to make matters worse, puppies were dumped at the feeding site. So the numbers went up.
Then, 3 years ago I had a stroke and I relocated this lot of rescued dogs to a kennel where they are currently being cared for, till now. My present state of health made it very stressful and difficult to continue caring for them. They need so much love and when I visit them once a week, they all gather around me waiting for hugs and kisses.
I am therefore seeking assistance to re-home them, with the younger ones for adoption, at least to give them a chance to live where I cannot do it myself. The older ones may have to eventually be put down. If I have to put down all of them, the experience will be more devastating than the pain of them passing in old age or illness.
In view of the above circumstances, I would be grateful if anyone can assist to:-
1. Find homes for the young ones; and 2. House the older ones who are still in good health and going strong.
Rescuing strays is never a winning job, the rescuer is the main one to suffer. These furry friends deserve to live too as God’s creations and only human can specially care for them, not them for themselves.
Therefore, any suggestion or help you may be able to render will keep hearts at peace,at least to an extent that the main aim of rescuing them is not lost.
Please help as I am not getting stronger by the day. Love them as I do, it pains me a lot to have to put them down. Please do what we can within our means to make the world a safer place for these furry friends.
Thank you.
Sincerely,Deborah How.
