I have been an animal welfare activist for over 25 years. Our NON PROFIT COMPANY is called Save A Stray Berhad. Its our name,. Its our work and our Motto too. After reading the Ketam swamp dogs were swimming back,I called The Chairperson of SPCA to join forces in rescuing these dogs back.I seeked Dr. Nadzariah Cheng who offered her services voluntary. Together we worked out a long term Master solution to P. Ketam Strays issues on the 24/4/09. SPCA cruelty inspectors and I embarked on an investigation on the 27 & 28 April, 2009 & on behalf of our joined efforts, I gave our press release on the results & our master guidelines to the issue. Never did we envisaged to see " Dog eat Dog " when we embarked to review the dump site at P. Silat Kering with a local committee member on the 4 May,2009. The rest is history. But we didn't return to KL to plan & activate Emergency Rescue till all measures were made & taken to ensure the starving dogs were fed DAILY regardless of the logistic.
After which,Save A Stray plunged into Planning and mapping operations in managing P. Ketam Strays. Our Proposal on Strays Management in Pulau Ketam was accepted by the Municipality of Port Klang as guidelines. Our sterilization & rehoming Procedure was also accepted by the MPK Anjing Special Task Force too on 18/5/09. Following which, the Dept. of Veterinary Services granted us permission to run a sterilization station in Ketam Village for strays. MPK allocated us 5,000sq. ft. space & a token sum but both are still forth coming. We tried to expedite our sterilization programme but the local villagers refused to rent in fear of us "dirtying their premises ". We have now located an ideal transit point along Kesas Highway & is desperately seeking sponsorship for its rent. All financial help are also necessary for a whole outfit in operating theatre, medicine & equipments, cages, etc, etc are needed right from scratch to start solving the Ketam Problem.
Dear Animals Loving Friends , your supports will kindle constructive long term solution to not only Ketam but strays elsewhere. Please help & kindly pass our appeal onwards too.
Our website is currently under construction.Save A Stray Berhad RHB bank A/C no. : 21437000039576 with receipt to Donor's name & address given.
