I grew up in a household of pets - my mom always had dogs, birds, guinea pigs, and sometimes hamsters and cats. I helped regularly with their care. I also had hermit crabs of my own for years. As an adult I haven’t had any pets. My kids are now wishing for pets, so we are planning on starting with guinea pigs.
