Yes, I have and have had many pets (dogs, cats, gerbils, hamsters, white rats).
My dogs, cats & rats have all been rescue animals. The dogs and cats have all been spayed/neutered and I very happy to say that they have been incredibly healthy and happy. All have lived 14 years+.
I am a believer in spay/neuter. In a perfect world, all dogs and cats would be loved and have homes. We don't live in that world. The most humane action to stop pet overpopulation of unloved and unwanted animals is spay/neuter the loved pets we have.
I so applaud those that go beyond this and spay/neuter strays. They 'get it' and understand the suffering and fear felt by unloved, unwanted animals. It's not a pretty life.
Hi, CanuckinKL, you know I agree with you heartily and really applaud your efforts to encourage people to spay & neuter their pets.
It's an uphill battle, though, when dealing with people who want to churn out puppies and kittens for sale, eh? No profits to be gotten from a neutered animal... **sigh**
I wouldn't speak so confidently about what is and is not a US state, if I were you... Last I heard, the US was considering jettisoning Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama (now fouled with oil) and annexing BC and Saskatchewan in their place. Maybe Malaysia is next. Heaven help us! :-)
i had a 4 years old leukaemia patient at home and what me and my family did is for her best to stay healthy. i have also given my 2 other dogs to my bf to take care and thankfully i have found a closed friend who is willing to take care odie on our behalf. please do not judge me on how i treat my pets before knowing what really happened. thanks for all the comments.
