Amicuscuriae.general. Are You Aware Of The Sudden ..

amicuscuriae.general

“Are you aware of the sudden rise in animal abuse cases? In 2016 alone, 463 cases were reported, which later escalated to 510 and 662 in just 2 years. In both 2020 and 2021, we’ve seen viral news including that of cat legs brutally chopped off.

We have laws to protect animals and we know that animal cruelty is illegal. Yet we still see animals abused, mutilated and killed.

So, what went wrong? How is the law enforced? What rights do these voiceless animals have? Can animals “sue”? What role can you play as part of the legal fraternity or as the general public, to help put an end to animal cruelty?

The Human Rights Sub Committee of Amicus Curiae invites you to come join our discussion, “Animal Rights and Yet Animals Wronged: A Conversation with Sachpreetraj Singh”.

SPCA Penang

SPCA Penang's main objectives are to prevent the unnecessary suffering of animals and to ensure responsible pet ownership. Hence the Society acts to prevent cruelty to animals and promotes kindness towards them by fostering an intelligent public interest regarding Man's duty animals.

Though the Society is sometimes compelled to put down an animal, our work covers a much more wider scope of rescuing, rehabilitating, healing and re-homing the animals.
