National Inter-Varsity Mock Trial Competition: Calling for Participants!
International Islamic University of Malaysia, WWF-Malaysia and Sabah Law Society, in collaboration with Malaysian Centre for Constitutionalism and Human Rights are organising the first National Inter-Varsity Mock Trial Competition 2021.
The aim of the competition is to promote Sustainable Infrastructure which is largely centred on people and society for the benefit of the environment, economy and society. It focuses on the possibility of public action through the initiation of public interest cases by preparing the legal fraternity with Mock Trial Competitions between higher institutions in Malaysia.
Each institution will only be allowed to send one team comprising five participants. There is no registration fee imposed on the participating teams.
a) Participants must be registered as an undergraduate student at the institution
b) Participants of the same team must be from the same institution
c) Participants may comprise of students from other program of studies, not limited to students taking Laws programme
Details of the competition:
1. Date / Venue
Date : Round of 16 (23 October 2021)
Round of 8 (November 2021)
Round of 4 (December 2021)
Grand Finals (January 2022)
Venue : Online (Zoom)
● the Grand Final may be online or on-ground
Prizes:
● Cash prizes
- Champion: RM 3000
- Runner Up: RM 2000,
- Best Counsel: RM 200
● Individual and Challenge trophies, Certificates
● WWF-Malaysia merchandise worth:
- Champion: RM 700
- Runner Up: RM 450
- Best Counsel: RM 300
● Internship with:
- Law firm (5 slots for Champion)
- WWF-Malaysia (3 to 4 slots offered for Runner Up and Best Counsel)
