This is Inda and her baby Aco – two Bornean orang-utans found at Bukit Piton Forest Reserve in Sabah one of the few areas where WWF-Malaysia is working to help conserve orang-utan habitat. The sighting of a baby orang-utan at Bukit Piton is always precious as it is an indication that forest protection and the reforestation efforts there have been effective.
It is important to continue forest restoration efforts at key orang-utan habitats to ensure that the Bornean orang-utan population continues to thrive!
As we celebrate International Orang-utan Day, let us all act together and do the little things that we can to help protect our orang-utans.
What you can do:
1. Refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose, recycle.
2. Where possible, use RSPO or FSC certified products.
3. Raise awareness about orang-utans among friends and family.
