11,572 Dogs And Cats Were Spayed And Neutered In J..

11,572 dogs and cats were spayed and neutered in July, bringing the total number of animals sterilised in 2021 to 82,673 ‼️ 🐕🐈Thank you for improving the lives of street animals in Thailand.

With safety measures tightening all across the country as the number of Covid-19 patients reach a record high here in Thailand, our spay and neuter clinic teams are making the most of the situation by focusing on packs of dogs in remote areas.

Here are just a few highlights from the past month captured by the teams in various parts of Bangkok. Footage also shows some of the dogs released back into their community after being sterilised. These are dogs who are healthy and have local feeders caring for them.😍

These dogs are hard to catch as some of them are feral and their roaming areas are vast spanning as far as the eye can see. But, the teams persevere and make sure to catch as many dogs as possible trying out new methods and trapping devices to get the dogs safely as possible.

Thailand’s street dog population is estimated to be about 10 million with a major concentration seen in urban areas such as Bangkok. We currently have 9 spay and neuter mobile clinic teams spanning across the Bangkok metropolitan as well as in areas in the south like Nakhon Si Tammarat and Surathani.

All of these efforts have been made possible thanks to people like you. 🙏Your donations help fund the vital spay and neuter programmes which will minimise the suffering of street dogs (and cats) in Thailand by managing the current population and preventing the birth of thousands of unwanted individuals being born into the world.
