We had gone through a nightmarish week when one of our volunteers who does rescuing and transportation tested positive for Covid-19. She had received her first dose at a mass vaccination center, which was shutdown for disinfection a day after she had been there because more that 200 personnel there had tested positive. She had come in contact with some of our staff whom we had to also send for screening. Luckily, they were negative. To make matters worse, Gasing Veterinary Clinic has also been shut down for two weeks after a vet and a nurse tested positive. So we had to also test our volunteer who goes to the clinic with our dogs. Three dogs there, with wounds that need dressing, were also sent back to us. What a nightmare!!!!!

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better is a canine welfare programme initiated by non-profit organisation Community Development and Integration Initiative (CDII).

MDDB's main activities revolve around rescuing dogs from the local council pounds as well as off the streets. Once they have been rescued, the dogs are vaccinated and neutered before being put up for adoption.
