We found Sookie in a government shelter in the northeast of Thailand in May 2018. She had developed glaucoma in both of her eyes, so we transferred her to our shelter to take a closer look. Left untreated for so long, the condition had sadly caused irreversible damage, and our vets had no choice but to remove her eyes in order to relieve her pain.

Fortunately, Sookie is a fast learner and soon overcame the obstacle of losing her vision. She’s built a mental map of the shelter and amazes us with how she navigates around. Understandably, though, she can be easily frightened by certain noises, and she’s nervous when exploring new areas.
