As Stated Earlier, This Is A Lousy Month For Us. O..

As stated earlier, this is a lousy month for us. One of our adopters alerted us to this dumped dog which we have since named Valerie. We took her to Gasing and she has been diagnosed with nose cancer. She is currently at our HWH and will go back to Gasing tomorrow.

Update on Valerie:

1. She is a very sweet natured dog and so loving

2. The dog is diagnosed with Nose cancer. There is mass growing inside her nose leading down to her mouth and throat

3. Because of the mass growing inside her nose, it makes her eyes swollen and emit discharge

4. According to the vet, nose cancer is not treatable via Chemotherapy and surgery. The only treatment for Nose cancer is Radiatherapy but its not available in Malaysia.

5. Valerie will be going for MRI and Biopsy tomorrow to check how invasive and severe the mass is. The vet will advice us on the treatment for Valerie then.

6. Her appetite is still good for now.

7. She is negative for distemper and parvovirus.

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better is a canine welfare programme initiated by non-profit organisation Community Development and Integration Initiative (CDII).

MDDB's main activities revolve around rescuing dogs from the local council pounds as well as off the streets. Once they have been rescued, the dogs are vaccinated and neutered before being put up for adoption.
